Alloy 400 is ductile and it is a Nickel-Copper alloy with good resistance to a variety of corrosive settings. This alloy is frequently used in varied environments, from slightly oxidizing through neutral and to fairly reducing conditions. Other application region of this material is in marine environments and solutions of non-oxidizing chloride. As with commercially pure Nickel, low in strength, the MONEL 400 is in annealed condition, as a result a range of tempers is used to attain higher levels of strength.
